I am not the creator or owner of the audio and artwork in this video. I haven't posted anything since my first video, months ago, so I figured I Trials of Van Occupanther is the second studio album by American rock band Midlake. It was released on July 25, 2006, on Bella Union. It was reissued on its 10th anniversary in 2016 with new cover art, photographs, and two unreleased songs. The single, and first song on the album: Roscoe is one of the band's signature songs, and was listed in their top 100 as the 90th greatest song of the 00s by Rolling Stone. All tracks are written by Tim Smith. Listen free to Midlake The Trials Of Van Occupanther Roscoe, Bandits and more. 11 tracks 44:48. Van Occupanther. 3:'s second album is a departure from their lo-fi, psychedelic pop-influenced debut. The Trials of Van Occupanther jumps with both feet into the '70s of Laurel Canyon troubadours and soft rock balladeers. It jumps like Bob Beamon right past any other current bands treading similar ground and jumps back into time, becoming one of the best examples of the sound and style you'll ever hear, date of release notwithstanding. The first thing you notice on the album is the stunning vocal harmonies you might think you dropped in an America disc by mistake. The best record America. Van Occupanther feels like a contrarian response to so many bands copping from 60s psych-pop and 80s New Wave while leaving out everything in between. Read full review. Under The Radar. The Trials of Van Occupanther is a beautiful piece of moody ambience, and an enchanting album that ultimately continues to reveal itself even after numerous listens. Similarly, Midlake take a step back from the synth-age psychedelia of their solid 2004 debut Bamnan and Slivercork on follow-up The Trials of Van Occupanther, an encouraging but ultimately disappointing contemplation of time's ceaselessness, love's promise, and Harvest-era Neil Young. Speaking of time, Midlake waste little at first. Opener Roscoe keeps getting compared to Fleetwood Mac but actually comes closer to the pristine, high-concept chug of the Alan Parsons Project's paranoid 1982 hit Eye in the Sky in a good way, gang or the similarly anxious s. Van Occupanther is at times darker than Midlakes debut, but never reaches as deep and nervous sounding as Bamnans The Jungler. At times its brighter, but never quite as cheery and light as They Can Not Let it Expand also B&S. So what makes The Trials of Van Occupanther sound so goddamned different For one Occupanthers vocals, lovingly laid down by master songwriter Tim Smith, are almost always doubled, tripled, quadrupled or quintupled by backing tracks. The use of backing vocals is also very prominent giving the vocals almost a wave like effect, washing over the listener like a tsu. Complétez votre collection Midlake
